What does sponsoring mean?

When we talk about sponsoring a boy or a girl, we are referring to making a designated monthly donation that covers the cost of a spot at the Sigamos Center. Therefore, the contribution will not go to any specific child, but to the center. This is the most suitable cooperation strategy to ensure community development, and it helps benefit the entire population rather than an individual. Our approach to actions is systematic and community-focused.

With your contribution, you will be helping to maintain the center and, therefore, improve the quality of life of children and young people with special educational needs through personalized support for the development of skills and functional abilities that allow them to become more autonomous and independent individuals.

Will I receive any periodic information?

Yes, on an annual basis we will send you information about the life stories and achievements of the boys and girls who regularly attend the Center. We want you to have constant contact and for it to be more than just a financial donation. Additionally, you can keep up to date with the other projects we carry out at Misevi, as we will also send you the annual report.

El Centro is a specialized care project for children and young people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties, where they receive personalized attention according to their diagnosis. All of them come from very low-income families in situations of social risk. The work of supporting and including families in the rehabilitation and education process of their children complements the work we carry out at the Center.

EARLY STIMULATION
Care for children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities aged 3 to 5 years. Support and stimulation are provided in the following areas: socio-emotional, motor, language, and cognitive skills.

MULTIGRADE I
Care for children aged 6 to 14 years who have complex needs, require medication, and have moderate to severe disabilities.

MULTIGRADE II
Care for children aged 6 to 14 years who have mild to moderate disabilities. They have the potential for inclusion in the regular educational system.

TRANSITION TO ADULT LIFE
Care for young people aged 15 to 30, focused on developing skills that help them actively engage in society according to their abilities, including commercial entrepreneurship.

EDUCATIONAL INCLUSION
Classroom support for children and adolescents who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities and attend regular schools. Curriculum content is reinforced with strategies suited to the beneficiary’s abilities, and school progress is monitored monthly at the schools (coordination of work between the school and the center).

Monthly sponsorship of a child €18; with this money, food and school supplies are covered.
